"In the name of God Amen I Samuel GILLIAM of the County of Brunswick and Parish of (blank) being Sick and Weak in Body but of Perfect mind and Memory do make ________ and ordain this to be my last Will & Testament in Manner and form following to wit
Item: I give and bequeath to my Brother John GILLUM one Negroe Man Named Jack One Negroe Woman Named Judy with her Increase to him and his heirs forever Also one Entry of Land on Crouches Creek Containing Eight Hundred Acres be the same more or less it being the Land my Father left me in his last Will which there is now a Suit depending for and if recovered, I give it to my Brother John GILLUM to him and his heirs for ever. I also give unto my Brother John GILLUM two horses with my bridle and Saddle and all my Stock of Cattle and Hogs Also one Feather Bed to him and his heirs forever Also all my Carpenters tools and Plantation tools to him and his Heirs forever
Furthermore I desire my Estate may not be appraised, And do Appoint my Brother John GILLUM Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I do hereunto set my Hand and Seal this fourteenth day of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Seven

The Court held for Surry County June the 16th. 1767 ---
The afore Written last Will & Testament of Samuel GILLUM Dec'd was presented in Court by John GILLUM The Executor therein Named who made Oath thereto according to Law & the same being proved by the Oaths of John Burgess, John Burrough, & William Anthony the Witnesses thereto was by the Court Ordered to be Recorded, And on the Motion of the said ____, Certificate is granted him for Obtaining a probate thereof in due form
